Highway and Safety Services, Inc., has provided quality specialized construction services to dozens of local owners and contractors in the Washington, DC metro area for over 20 years. Highway and Safety Services started in 1987 as a small, woman-owned, traffic control subcontractor with two employees. It has since grown into a multi-million dollar contractor with nearly 150 employees capable of constructing a wide variety of projects. Our list of customers includes government agencies on every level – federal, state, and local – as well as customers in the private sector. These services have included turnkey construction of roads, parking lots, utilities, and parks, as well as support services in traffic control, erosion and sediment control, and specialty site furnishings.

We are able to perform a wide range of sitework projects and have a proven track record of success in the following scopes of work: resurfacing, patching, and construction of parking lots, roads, and streets; sidewalk, and curb and gutter, traffic control; erosion and sediment control; earth excavation; structures; bridges; stream restoration and storm water management; guardrails, signs, and striping; decorative rails and fences; landscape; and more.

Highway and Safety Services is well-capitalized and owns earthwork equipment including Gradalls, Bobcats, numerous trucks, and small powered equipment. An in-house machine/welding shop is able to fabricate signs, ornamental fences, and specialty items.
