Project: Sligo Creek Trail Improvements

Client: The Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration (SHA) 

Location: Montgomery County Maryland

The Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration (SHA) has awarded Highway and Safety Services, Inc. a $1.6 million bicycle and pedestrian improvement project in the southeast quadrant of the MD 320 (Piney Branch Road) and Sligo Creek Parkway intersection.  The project will enhance safety for users of the Anacostia Tributary Trail and includes:  Constructing a pedestrian bridge over Sligo Creek; realigning the shared use path; constructing sidewalks and ramps for Americans ith Disabilities Act compliance; and upgrading traffic and pedestrian signals.

This project was started in early May 2016 and is scheduled for completion by years end.
